Sampuran Singh Khalsa / DIRECTOR
Is the director of the Baba Siri Chand Ashram of Altamonte Springs, Florida. He has been practicing and teaching yoga for the past 30 years. In 1971, while studying psychology at the University of Hartford, Sampuran met Yogi Bhajan, master of Kundalini Yoga, the man destined to become his spiritual teacher. Since that day, 32 years ago, Sampuran has devoted his life to awakening through the practice and teachings of Kundalini Yoga. In 1973, Yogi Ji sent Sampuran to Orlando to become the director of the Baba Siri Chand Ashram, and to establish the Kundalini Yoga Center. Through many years of patience and dedication, he manifested Yogi Ji’s vision, helping to create a beautiful sacred space.
The wisdom gained from three decades of meditation and yogic sadhana have given Sampuran’s teaching an essence that is both profound and practical. Sampuran has a warm, compassionate and youthful spirit. His classes are infused with wisdom, inspiration, and humor.
Hari Simran Kaur Khalsa
Has been teaching Hatha and Kundalini Yoga for over 18 years. She also teaches the Ayurvedic science of health. The yogic teachings are passed down from her teacher, the Master of Kundalini yoga, Yogi Bhajan.
Mahan Kalpa Singh Khalsa
Has been teaching Kundalini Yoga at the Baba Siri Chand Ashram for 30 years and is a certified IKYTA Instructor. His classes deepen your pranayam (breath) technique and help you to feel grounded in your true self. His gentle manner and trance educing voice help to take you deep into a meditative space. He also offers individual sessions in Breath Technology.
Ram Rang Kaur Khalsa
Has been teaching Kundalini Yoga for the past 30 years and is a certified IKYTA instructor. Before moving to Florida, she was coordinator of El Centro de Yoga in Puerto Rico for 25 years. Her quiet nature belies the wisdom and depth of her teaching. You will find her yoga classes both uplifting and relaxing. She also teaches Vegetarian Cooking Classes and Introductory Kundalini Yoga classes in Spanish.
Jagat Guru Kaur
Has taught Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan since the early 1980s. She is a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, a member of the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association, a certified Breathwalk® teacher, and an Excel and Celebrate Women facilitator. She teaches a variety of workshops and classes in breathing techniques, meditation, classes for women, specialized stretching classes, and has taught at the Kundalini Yoga Center, Lotus Yoga Center, Orange County School system, Seminole Community College, and numerous business settings. She is a Reiki Master whose eclectic background enriches the practice of yoga for all students. Her relaxed and penetrating instructional philosophy concentrates on showing students how to allow themselves to experience their excellence through pranayam (breath) technique to uplift and nurture their spirit.
Is a Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor, Clinical Hypnotist, and Certified Laughter Leader. For 14 years, she has been teaching workshops on visualization, meditation, intuition, and stress reduction through laughter. With gentle humor and a soothing voice, she encourages students to allow awareness, acceptance and deep relaxation.
Raghubir has a heart centered approach to her life as well as healing. Healing begins when the mind is quiet and the heart opens.
Seva Siri Kaur
Petey Silveira aka Seva Siri Kaur has been in the healing profession for more than 35 years. After receiving her Masters in counseling from the University of Virginia, Petey began her career as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice in Longwood, Florida, where she has helped individuals heal through the “mind” element. In 1990 Petey was certified as a hypnotherapist and then continued training with the “spirit” element when she trained with Dr. Brian Weiss in Past-Life Regression Therapy in 1991. More than two decades later, Petey has taken thousands of people to past lives and in-between lifetimes allowing them to meet their spirit guide, create healing and resolve negative cell memories affecting this current lifetime and relationships. Petey practices daily meditation where she connects with spirit and receives messages from the Masters to share with her clients. The one missing piece was found the moment she took her first Kundalini class at the Ashram. She now holds a 300-hour certification in Kundalini Yoga and Ayurveda practices. She loves teaching regularly at the Kundalini Yoga Center as well as facilitating her Mind, Body and Spirit small group classes at her office. Damanjit Kaur has been studying and practicing Kundalini Yoga since 1993. Upon entering her first Kundalini Yoga class, she had an immediate sense of “coming home.” Since that time, Kundalini Yoga has been a transformative force in her life, and today she receives great joy in sharing these amazing teachings with others. Damanjit holds a 300 hour Certification in Kundalini Core, Hatha Yoga, and Ayurveda. She received her Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, where her research and studies focused on The Transformational effects of integrating Yoga with Psychotherapy. Damanjit has completed graduate studies in Meditation, in addition to KRI Level II training on the Mind and Meditation. Damanjit brings a compassionate, heart centered approach to her teaching. She enjoys inspiring others toward awareness, healing and growth to reach their highest potentials. Damanjit teaches classes in Kundalini Yoga and Meditation at the Kundalini Yoga Center.
Rachel Chase aka Amanbir Kaur has been sharing the gifts of yoga and healing since 2003 in the central Florida and Boston areas. A 200-hr experienced, certified yoga instructor and reiki master, she holds the space for her students and clients to feel safe and comfortable through the process of connecting mind, body, and soul. Amanbir loves teaching, and is passionately devoted to expanding the awareness of compassion for all through expressive and healing arts. Discovered Kundalini Yoga in 2006 during a time of personal trauma and stress caused by the recent death of her mother coinciding with her son’s motorcycle accident injury. Her career as a Chartered Financial Consultant and owner of a national insurance agency added additional stress at this difficult time. The Kundalini Yoga Center became a blessed place of refuge as the nurturing, healing power of Kundalini yoga began to uplift and transform anguish into tranquility and anger into love. Her enormous gratitude and love for the teachings, and for the amazing teachers/yogi’s at the Baba Siri Chand Ashram inspired her to complete the teacher training program there in December of 2007 and to begin sharing this beautiful, life-changing technology with others. Using Kundalini Yoga asana’s and meditations, her classes aim to focus on healing physical, emotional, and psychological wounds so that others may begin to live happier, healthier, and holier lives just as she did. Bonnie is from Georgia and shares her love, light and passion for yoga everywhere she is present. Yoga is my smile, my light, my journey. I attended my first yoga class in 1996 as form of exercise. Seeking more I discovered it was very helpful in reducing stress, anxiety, and find peace within, thus the journey began. The Asanas, the physical part of a practicing Yogi, was a key element in my daily exercise routine. I stayed on the path of Yoga and have been practicing Yogi over 15 years. I have been clean and sober for 7 years and my support system is Yoga. Yoga introduced me to “myself”. Empowered me to live in the moment and just “BE” no expectations, no judgments, release ego and fear. Yoga begins off the mat and brings us to a place of calming energy on the mat. Through the journey of Mind, Spirit and Body, and with encouragement from my Yoga instructor Gail Marshall, in 2011 my yoga journey led me to the 200 hr RYT Yoga Alliance Certified teacher training course led by Nancy Curran of Yoga on the Beach, Key West, FL. Having experienced Paddle Board Yoga while living in The Florida Keys and enjoying the benefits it offered, core strength, balance and focus, in July 2012 I received my certification as an ACE Stand Up Paddle Yoga instructor. From beginners to advanced I offer various styles of yoga which include Laughter yoga, Hatha Yoga, Aromatherapy yoga, Vinyasa/Power Flo Yoga, Acro-Yoga, Chakra Yoga, Partner Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pre-Natal Yoga and even a bit of Slack line Yoga. In addition to my 200RYT I hold a certificate in advanced CPR training, am a Florida Notary, a board member of The Orlo Vista New Chamber for Commerce and offer yoga at other studios in the central Florida area. In January 2015 I will begin the yogic journey again to achieve my 300RYT, reaching my goal of 500RYT. When I am not teaching I enjoy being with nature, art festivals, riding my Harley and being on or near the water.
Yoga is my PASSION. I started practicing yoga on my own more than 10 years ago and became enthusiastic about teaching Yoga driven by my will to share the peace and harmony I was experiencing for myself.
I am certified as a Hatha Yoga instructor through the Yoga Teacher Training of Central Florida Hatha Yoga School. I started teaching Yoga two years ago and left my corporate full-time job last year following my heart to share my love and passion for Yoga. I teach in English and Spanish. I am also trained in Prenatal Yoga, Kids Yoga and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation). I currently teach Hatha Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Kids Yoga and Chair Yoga.
I believe that there are many languages but the universal language is LOVE. What my heart speaks in Yoga class cannot be translated; it is to be felt through the love I share while expressing my passion through teaching yoga, bringing my students to a space of unity and peace.
My focus while teaching is to create a comfortable atmosphere for everyone and all body types, communicating breath-synchronized movement, core stability, flexibility and alignment techniques. I believe in enabling each individual the freedom to choose their own intensity level through encouragement to help maintain mind-body awareness. Through Yoga, my goal is to guide others to the healthiest and harmonious possible lifestyle.
GuruSimran Kaur Khalsa has been teaching Kundalini Yoga for 35 years and has recently moved from Northern Virginia to Port Orange, Florida. She has studied directly with Yogi Bhajan attending his classes and lectures for 24 years. GuruSimran Kaur took the first Kundalini Teacher Training in 1996 and has completed all 5 of the level II training. She is also certified to teach SuperHealth (A Yogic Science For Addictive Behavior) as taught by Yogi Bhajan. It is her intention and prayer to share with everyone this technology that gives one the grace and grit to conquer time and space and come out smiling showering kindness and compassion upon all.
Karan Nam Singh
Karan Nam Singh is a hatha and kundalini yoga teacher who is described by those who know him best as a man of medicine. Taking years to understand the inner workings of the body, he pulled back from a conventional career in pharmacy to find a path that would assist the body in healing, not just masking symptoms. This led Karan Nam to studying functional medicine as well as practicing hatha yoga and Ayurveda. Realizing health as a culmination of physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing deepened his yoga practice and eventually led him to kundalini yoga. Karan Nam shares this practice today with reverence to the tradition and recognition of its profound healing and transformative potential. He also has a passion for kirtan, sharing sacred sounds of mantra and music, playing djembe, gong and guitar.
Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 10, Lucy looked for a sense of balance every corner. While riding the highs and lows of fluctuating glucose levels, she found refuge in yoga. Yoga became the building blocks of her balance, providing her a strong foundation to flourish. She began her journey with yoga at the age of 16, and at the age of 17 went to complete her 200 hour Yoga Instructor Certification. Today, Lucy continues her journey through gaining her Undergraduate Degree in Alternative Medicine and continues to grow and strive to help her students connect with their bodies to find the same sort of balance and vitality through their practice as she found in hers. Lucy’s classes are playful, laughter inducing and soothing. They encourage both energetic growth and mental resilience. Through yoga, she introduces ideas of adaption, and fluidity while inducing a sense of grounding, strength and calmness.
